On the site of the former Gossip Lounge, the Ceylon Tavern is a Sri Lankan restaurant selling excellent food both for eating in and taking away. There is a small bar, selling no draught beer, but with a small selection of bottled beer, three of which are imported from Sri Lanka. This includes the magnificent Lion Stout (at 8% ABV). Unfortunately the Ceylon Tavern suffered from a bad fire in December 2008 and has remained closed since. Rumour has it that it will rise from the ashes, but at the moment there is no concrete news.     (see above)
