A cracking little pub a short distance off the A217 between Reigate & Hookwood, the Three Horseshoes is definitely worth a detour. Parts of it date back 300 years and it was originally a coaching inn on the old original London-Brighton Road. When entering, there is a small ante-room with just about enough room for a couple of small tables and a few chairs. The main bar itself is an L-shaped room. The area to the left of the entrance was once a forge, hence the name the Three Horseshoes. It still houses a real fireplace, which adds to the warmth of the place in the winter months. The area to the right, in front of the bar, is where the locals tend to congregate, and has oak beams and a timbered ceiling. Through to the back of the bar is an extension, offering welcome extra space. Families are welcome until 9pm. Good quality meals are served every day between 12 and 2:30 (5 Sundays), and 6:30-9:30 (not Sunday). A beer festival is held over the first May bank holiday. Symbols explained
