The Hatch dates from the 17th century, and is a former workhouse with a hayloft for horses. There is one L-shaped bar on which sit a bank of eight handpumps. To the left of the bar is a small room with more seating. Above the fireplace here, on a beam, can be seen the former name of the pub, the Foresters Arms. It was in 1991 that the name was changed to the Hatch. Beyond this, up a few steps and quite hidden away, is a pool room. Darts is also played. A number of Edwardian style prints decorate the walls of this smart pub. Homemade food is available lunchtimes Monday to Saturday from 11-3, and from 12-3 Sunday.
