Itís a steep climb to reach this small single room pub, which is notable for its tiled-roofed front and side veranda and whose garden affords fine views of Redhill. The pub is around 150 years old and was named after the Italian soldier and popular hero, credited more than any other for laying the foundation of Italyís unification. He also visited England on a couple of occasions and several pubs were named in his honour. It was one of the last pubs in the area to gain a full licence. Food is only available for special functions. There are one or two guest beers which are usually from local breweries. Many regulars and previous landlords have seen the ghost of Albert, an old coachman who used to tie his horse up outside. However, he means no harm and just sits on a stool at the left hand side of the bar.
