Le Papillon is a bar and restaurant in what used to be a Shepherd Neame pub called the Dragon, and originally a Friary Meux pub called the George & Dragon, just off the town centre. The restaurant part is in a large split-level conservatory, which affords great views of the ugly façade of the Belfry centre and the traffic queuing on the A25 one-way system, and there are two menus, one with mainly French food, the other Indian. No food is served between 3 and 6. At the back of the bar there is an area with a couple of sofas and a TV screen and there are bar stools round the bar and along one of the walls, with another TV screen at the end of the bar.
