Just over the Kent border, the Wheatsheaf is a must for beer drinkers. Up to eight different beers are sold and these are constantly changing – around 3,000 different beers have been sold in the last ten years. They usually include a mild and beers from local brewers such as Larkins and Westerham. There are five drinking areas, and half the pub plus the conservatory restaurant are nonsmoking. A beer festival is held in the summer – this will coincide with the village fête. Very good quality food is served each lunchtime and evening. Shove halfpenny is played. Outside there is a garden where barbecues take place in good weather. Civilised children are welcome.
