In a beautiful setting by the picturesque church and village green, the 17th century Royal Oak is situated in the centre of the village, and is a lovely place to sit outside on a summer's day. The Felday Brewery is part of the pub, operating from a custom made brewery towards the car park. Legacy is their regular beer and one of the guest beers may be a seasonal beer from them. One of the other guests will always be from Big Smoke brewery. There is a sixth handpumup which may be used for an extra beer of cider. There is a small entrance porch leading to a cosy bar where homemade meals are served from 12-9 Monday to Saturday and 12-8 on Sunday. At one end of the bar is an attractive fire. There is further dining space at the back up some stairs, which is sometimes used for functions, and leads into the back garden where there is shelter, lights and heating for smokers and which can also be accessed from the car park. There is also a front garden and the pub is a popular destination with walkers and cyclists (for whom there is a lockable cycle rack) and dogs are welcome. Free WiFi is available.
